The first graduating class received the degree of the Regional Energy Engineer at the graduation ceremony of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Szeged

Before the energy crisis, the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Szeged had been accredited for its postgraduate studies, and the Regional Energy Engineer course could start in February 2023. During their studies, the students broadened their experience in the field of energy engineering through new perspectives and systems practice. They were thus able to tailor energy solutions to their own experience, which were linked to the development of the energy point and the system optimum.

Thus, the studies were an excellent combination of the automation potential of energy management, the energy efficiency efforts of a company, the energy solutions that can be extracted from waste water, straw bales and the optimisation of complex energy subsystems that can be developed within the administrative boundaries of a municipality, in terms of building, technology, transport and the environment.

At the final exam on 12 June, the nine-strong cohort demonstrated excellent preparation, and the Final Examination Board awarded seven distinctions and two distinctions. The practicality and usefulness of the training concept promoted by the ICFTU was also demonstrated by the fact that the President of the Scientific Society for Energy Management invited the authors of the theses to a press conference for a day of exchange of experience.
